Te Awamutu Residential Trust is a Charitable Trust established in 1989 under the umbrella of Community Living Trust.
Since 2001, Te Awamutu Residential Trust has contracted directly with the Ministry of Health as a provider for Health and Disability Services - Intellectual Disability Community Residential Services.
Te Awamutu Residential Trust is governed by a Board of Trustees, all Trustees are Volunteers who have Professional and social ties to the local community.
Our Role
We primarily provide support for people living with intellectual disabilities. Many of our service users also have physical challenges requiring specialised equipment, homes and transport that accommodates their needs.
With 7 residential homes in and around Te Awamutu our key focus is encouraging and supporting independence while promoting access to the community for our clients.
Friendships and family contact are paramount with many outings and overnight holidays planned and facilitated for the well being of all.
